Trade License in UAE

Once a company has been set up, acquiring a permit for trade is the next step. A general trade license in UAE designates maximum activities carried out here. A general trade license is also known as a commercial permit. The issuance of a trade license in UAE is carried out by the Department of Economic Development (DED)

Obtaining a Professional Certification

The process of acquiring a trade license in UAE takes place in multiple steps. To get a business license in UAE, one must –

  • Choose a trade name
  • Get Memorandums and Articles of Association prepared
  • File the same with the Department of Economic Development for approval
  • Carry a copy of the rental agreement as a proof
  • File an application for an occupational certification
Documents required

When applying for a trade license in UAE, a set of documents have to be presented to the Trade License and Commercial Registration Department in the DED, which includes –

  • A standard application form, filled in and duly signed by the legal representative of the company
  • Originals and copies of the company’s statutory documents
  • Letter from the DED with the approval of the company’s name
  • Letter from the DED attesting the approval of the company set up
  • The agreement of tenancy
  • Details of all shareholders (copies of their passports)
